Our take
Bob’s Big Boy Broiler is part diner, part story of roadside preservation. The Downey site began as Harvey’s Broiler in 1958; after much of the building was demolished, it was reconstructed and reopened as Bob’s in 2009.
Make time to look at the architecture as well as stopping for a meal. This is the Firestone Boulevard location in Downey, distinct from the better-known Bob’s restaurant in Burbank.
