Free in Mexico City: know which ticket you need

A free collection, a Sunday exemption and a paid workshop are three different things. Here is how to plan without confusing them.

Start with genuinely free public spaces: Parque México, the first section of Chapultepec and Biblioteca Vasconcelos. Museo Jumex also offers free entry, but its exhibition-change closures still matter.

Other museums use different rules. Bellas Artes lists free museum entry on Sundays. At Antropología, Sunday free admission applies to nationals and residents; it is not a universal free day. Frida Kahlo requires online tickets and has its own eligibility discounts.

A workshop fee may sit on top of museum entry, and a bar’s lack of a published cover does not turn drinks into a free activity. Open the linked place or event for its current practical details, and check official notices before travelling. These distinctions matter more than a long list labelled free.

Follow your curiosity.
