A place worth knowing
Make the East branch your destination for the museum’s permanent collections. Start with a material that interests you, then let a few objects take up more of your afternoon than expected.
Collection entry is free. Individual visitors do not need a general reservation, but must bring valid original identification. Interactive spaces require their own reservations; special exhibitions can charge separately. Regular hours are 10:00–18:00, last admission 17:00, with Tuesday closure except national holidays.
This is the Century Avenue building in Pudong, not the People’s Square branch, which currently requires a ticket for its Americas exhibition. Check the museum’s latest notices before travelling. The cover shows the East branch in 2025.
