Pad thai on Mahachai Road, at the Pratu Phi branch. A focused food stop to work into an old-town outing.
Activities Old town
A museum in the old town that invites questions about Thai identity. A useful indoor anchor for a day around Sanam Chai.
Leave room to be curious about the ideas behind everyday things. Museum Siam’s permanent exhibition, Decoding Thainess, approaches Thai identity through displays intended for active exploration.
The published standard adult ticket is 100 baht for both Thai and foreign visitors. Students and eligible groups have separate rates; free entry for certain visitors does not make general admission free. The museum opens Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Mondays. The 2021 cover photograph shows the building illuminated at night; it is not a promise of evening opening.
