A place worth knowing
Come for the Treasures Gallery, then give yourself time to look closely rather than working through a checklist. A library visit can be a useful change of pace between trains, museums and the streets around King’s Cross.
The public building and Treasures Gallery are free. Reading Rooms require a Reader Pass, and some exhibitions have separate tickets. Regular hours are Monday to Thursday 09:30–20:00, Friday until 18:00, Saturday until 17:00 and Sunday 11:00–17:00.
The St Pancras site is closed on 26 and 27 September 2026 for planned maintenance. Check the official visitor notice before travelling. The photograph is a 2009 view of the library and neighbouring St Pancras station.
