A place worth knowing
Look at the spaces between objects as well as the objects themselves. This former home makes a good case for a museum visit driven by curiosity rather than a list of masterpieces. Give the rooms time and travel light: large bags and luggage are not permitted.
Ordinary entry is free without pre-booking, but capacity is limited and queues are possible. Usual last admission is 16:30 and can be earlier when full. Groups of eight or more need advance arrangements. The museum normally closes Monday and Tuesday but opens for bank holidays; consult its notice for the date you want.
