Our take
J. G. Melon has made burgers, cottage fries and Bloody Marys its calling cards since 1972. Green-and-white tablecloths, melon-themed decorations and a jukebox give the Upper East Side saloon a recognisable setting for a straightforward meal.
The Third Avenue restaurant does not take reservations. Keep some flexibility in your plans, particularly if you are coming with friends and want to sit together.
