A place worth knowing

Give the garden a visit of its own. Follow the planted beds, look back towards the museum buildings and choose a bench before deciding whether to add an indoor attraction. The outdoor garden is free, while the galleries, greenhouses and Ménagerie have separate admission.

Hours change with the season: 07:30–20:00 through 30 September 2026, 08:00–18:30 from 1–24 October, then 08:00–17:30 from 25 October through 28 February 2027. Entry stops 15 minutes before closing. Weather can cause closures; check the official notice before travelling. The cover is an archival garden view from 2007.
