A place worth knowing
Come for the details: a surface, a join, the way a pattern repeats. The museum gives everyday materials a bigger story without needing a whole day to begin exploring it.
Normal exhibition hours are 10:00 to 18:00, closed Mondays except public holidays, and closed 1 January. Entry is free, although hired exhibitions may charge. Autumn evening opening applies only to selected floors; do not assume every exhibition stays open late. The children’s museum has separate booking and Monday-closure rules.
