Old Shanghai to an evening of jazz

Begin in the old city at Yu Garden and stop at Nanxiang for the food chapter. Travel north towards Rockbund Art Museum, then use the Bund promenade as a pause before the evening’s jazz on East Nanjing Road.
Check the garden and museum calendars, and use local transport for the longer move between districts. Restaurant queues and jazz tickets need their own allowance. The concert venue supplies the programme; the guide does not assume there is a show on every date. Street addresses remain available even where Google Maps is difficult to use.
