Ueno Zoo is divided between East and West Gardens within Ueno Park. Its three entrances connect differently with nearby stations and animal areas, so the gate you choose can shape the visit.
Start with the zoo map and pick a few areas to spend time in. Some animals leave public view before the zoo closes, making an earlier visit more useful than arriving just before the final admission time.
