Begin around Siam with the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and Jim Thompson House, then change pace at Lumphini Park. Dinner at Blue Elephant takes the day towards Sathorn before the final move to the Bamboo Bar near the river.
Use transit or a taxi for the longer stretches and allow for traffic and heat. The two cultural stops have different admission arrangements. At the Bamboo Bar, seating is not reserved and the dress and age policies matter, so check them before dinner. This is a listening-led evening rather than a club crawl, with the venue’s current programme supplying the music.

Start with the current galleries at Siam. Individual exhibitions can have their own access arrangements.
Jim Thompson House Museum
Walk into a different scale of Bangkok at the house museum. Follow its admission and guided-visit arrangements.
Lumphini Park
Take the journey south for a shaded pause. Leave time for the heat and the traffic.
Blue Elephant: Sathorn
Let dinner anchor the Sathorn part of the evening. Check the menu and reserve with the restaurant.
The Bamboo Bar
Finish with live music near the river. Dress for the bar’s policy and allow for walk-in seating.
