Why make time for it
Li Xing and Huang Jiayuan co-direct this adaptation of Tang Xianzu’s play. Sparse staging and imagery from Suzhou gardens frame a narrative crossing life and death. The work uses dance to revisit the text, so do not expect a conventional Kunqu performance of the original opera.
