These are three separate museum plans, not a three-stop sprint. Choose the collection or exhibition you want to see, check its opening calendar, and give it enough time. Crossing the city is part of the day, not an invisible gap between photographs.
Free entry, an exhibition ticket and a reserved time slot are different things. Our linked records keep those details attached to each venue. They also distinguish the East and People’s Square branches of Shanghai Museum, and public days from member access at Rockbund.
Keep one alternative for a closed gallery, a queue or a change of mood. An unhurried visit is a better starting point than trying to see every room.
Shanghai Museum East
Choose a collection or material before arrival. The East branch is in Pudong; check that your route does not take you to the People’s Square building.
West Bund Museum
Make the exhibition the anchor, then leave time for the river outside. Tickets are show-specific, so check the linked event before booking.
Rockbund Art Museum
Save this option for an exhibition day. The next announced programme begins on 31 October; the gap after September’s closing is not a confirmed visitor opening.
